Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup lemon or lime juice
  • 1 cup catsup
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 4 to 5 drops A.1. sauce
  • 5 pounds spareribs

Instructions

  1. In a 1-quart pan, melt the butter.
  2. Saute the chopped onions until tender.
  3. Blend in the brown sugar, salt, chili powder, and dry mustard.
  4. Stir in the pineapple juice, lemon or lime juice, catsup, chili sauce, soy sauce, and A.1. sauce.
  5. Heat to boiling, then lower the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
