Ingredients

  • 1 lb. bulk pork sausage
  • 10 c. fresh bread crumbs
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. chopped broccoli, thawed
  • 1 can mushrooms, drained
  • 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 6 eggs, beaten
  • 3 c. milk
  • 1 c. Miracle Whip
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 2 tsp. dry basil leaves
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Brown the sausage and drain excess fat.
  3. Add bread crumbs, chopped broccoli, drained mushrooms, and shredded Cheddar cheese to the sausage.
  4. Mix lightly to combine all ingredients.
  5. Spoon mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish or 2-quart casserole dish.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine beaten eggs, milk, Miracle Whip, flour, dry mustard, dry basil leaves, and salt.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the bread mixture in the casserole dish.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for one hour or overnight to allow flavors to meld.
  9. Bake uncovered for 1 hour until set and golden brown.
