Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. vinegar
  • dash of hot sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, beaten egg, salt, pepper, and tomato sauce and pack into a loaf pan.
  2. Combine water, brown sugar, vinegar, hot sauce, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce and pour over the loaf.
  3. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes, basting occasionally with the sauce and pan juices.
  4. Let cool for 20 minutes before serving.
