Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 3 cans water from tomato paste cans
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • dash of Tabasco (optional)
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups cooked rice

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to the skillet and cook until onion is softened.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, and water from the tomato paste cans.
  4. Add a dash of Tabasco if desired for extra heat.
  5. Mix in the cooked rice and simmer until heated through and flavors meld.
