Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 package chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and instant coffee in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together margarine and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto cookie sheets.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
