Nino'S Lasagna
Ingredients
- 9 lasagna noodles ⓘ
- 1 cup parmesan cheese ⓘ
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese ⓘ
- meat, sauce ⓘ
- 1 medium onion, chopped ⓘ
- 3 garlic cloves, chopped ⓘ
- 1 celery, finely chopped ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley (or dried) ⓘ
- 1/2 medium carrot, grated
- 1 (5 1/2 ounce) can tomato paste ⓘ
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon basil ⓘ
- 1/2 bay leaf ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon sugar ⓘ
- 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef ⓘ
- cream, sauce ⓘ
- 1/2 cup butter ⓘ
- 1/2 cup flour ⓘ
Instructions
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions.
- To make meat sauce: Saute in small amount of oil, onion, garlic, celery, parsley and carrot. Add tomato paste, tomatoes and spices and sugar. Saute ground beef in skillet and add to sauce. Simmer 2 hours.
- To make cream sauce: Melt butter, add flour stirring to mix. Add milk stirring until smooth and thickened. Add remaining ingredients.
- Lightly oil a 9 x 13 inch pan, layer noodles, meat sauce, cream sauce, Parmesan and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers twice.
- Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting.
