Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. oatmeal
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Make oatmeal by combining boiling water and oatmeal.
  2. Cool oatmeal for about 20 minutes.
  3. Add remaining ingredients: butter, white sugar, brown sugar, eggs, flour, salt, cinnamon, soda, baking powder, and vanilla.
  4. Beat the mixture until well blended.
  5. Pour the batter into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  6. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
