Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unseasoned bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons sweet onion, minced
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 pounds cooked ham, ground
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Combine bread crumbs and minced onion in a mixing bowl.
  3. Stir in eggs and milk until well blended.
  4. Add ground ham, pepper, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to the mixture.
  5. Pat the mixture into a large loaf pan.
  6. Press brown sugar on top of the loaf.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 2 hours.
  8. After 1 hour, remove foil and baste the top with melted brown sugar.
  9. Replace foil and continue baking for 90 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake uncovered for the remaining 30 minutes.
  11. Serve directly from the pan.
