Old English Casserole

A hearty casserole combining tender noodles, seasoned ground beef, green beans, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese, ideal for comforting family dinners and easy weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. noodles
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/4 tsp. lemon pepper
  • 1 (3 or 4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
  • 1 (15 oz.) can green beans
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Place cooked noodles in a lightly greased 8-cup baking dish.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet.
  3. Remove the beef to a bowl and drain all but 1 tablespoon of fat from the skillet.
  4. Saute the onion in the remaining fat until tender.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet with the onions and add the flour, seasoned salt, lemon pepper, sliced mushrooms, green beans, and tomato sauce.
  6. Mix well and cook until heated through.
  7. Pour the mixture over the noodles in the baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle grated Cheddar cheese on top.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
