Ingredients

  • 1 c. persimmon pulp
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. raisins or chocolate chips or butterscotch chips

Instructions

  1. Beat persimmon pulp, baking soda, and shortening until creamy. Add well beaten egg.
  2. Sift flour and spices, then add chopped nuts and raisins or chocolate chips.
  3. Drop by teaspoons onto greased baking sheets.
  4. Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes.
