Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 lb pepperoni, diced in 1/4-inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1/2 lb tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 package Pillsbury All-Ready pie crusts for 9-inch pie

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, sauté the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, and sliced mushrooms until the meat is browned and the mushrooms are tender.
  3. Add the diced pepperoni, basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
  4. Turn the meat mixture into an 8 or 9-inch pie pan lined with one pie crust.
  5. Top the meat mixture with half of the grated Parmesan and the shredded Mozzarella cheese.
  6. Cover evenly with the tomato slices and sprinkle the remaining Parmesan on top.
  7. Cover with the second pie crust, flute the edges, and make vents to allow steam to escape.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
