Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (5.3 oz.) can evaporated milk
  • 4 oz. spaghetti, cooked and drained
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (1 oz.) can pizza sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 cup (4 oz.) shredded Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, salt, and evaporated milk in a bowl.
  3. Press the mixture firmly onto the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie pan to form the crust.
  4. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, then spoon off drippings.
  5. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package instructions and drain.
  6. In a bowl, combine cooked spaghetti, beaten egg, grated Parmesan cheese, and butter.
  7. Spread the spaghetti mixture evenly over the baked meat shell.
  8. Top with pizza sauce, oregano, pepper rings if desired, and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting into wedges and serving.
