Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped fine
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 2 cans condensed tomato soup
  • 1 (7 oz.) pkg. Creamettes macaroni
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 to 1/2 lb. grated or thin sliced cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef, onion, salt, and black pepper in shortening.
  2. Add condensed tomato soup and cook together for about 15 minutes until thickened.
  3. Cook macaroni according to package directions and drain well.
  4. Beat together milk and egg, then add to macaroni.
  5. Spread macaroni mixture on a greased cookie sheet or sheet cake pan.
  6. Cover macaroni with the tomato beef mixture.
  7. Top with grated or sliced cheese.
  8. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 20 minutes.
