Potato Cheeseburger Pie
A hearty potato cheeseburger pie combining seasoned ground beef, creamy mashed potatoes, and melted cheese, perfect for comforting family dinners or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef ⓘ
- 1 c. fresh bread crumbs ⓘ
- 2 eggs ⓘ
- 1/4 c. green pepper ⓘ
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 2 instant beef bouillon ⓘ
- 1 1/4 c. water ⓘ
- 3 Tbsp. butter ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 1 (8 oz.) container sour cream ⓘ
- 2 c. instant mashed potato flakes ⓘ
- 8 slices cheese, cut in half ⓘ
- lettuce and tomato (optional) ⓘ
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, 1 egg, green pepper, chopped onion, and beef bouillon; mix well.
- Press the meat mixture into a 9-inch pie pan to form a shell; bake for 10 minutes.
- Pour off any excess fat from the meat shell.
- In a medium saucepan, heat water, butter, and salt to boiling.
- Remove from heat; add sour cream and instant mashed potato flakes; stir until combined.
- Stir in 1 egg and half of the cheese; spoon the potato mixture into the meat shell.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Top with the remaining cheese and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
- Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
- Optional: top with lettuce and tomato.
