Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup stewed prunes
  • scant cup cooking oil
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/4 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon allspice
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together thoroughly in a large bowl.
  2. Pour the batter into a greased loaf or muffin pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 to 45 minutes if using a loaf pan, or 15 to 20 minutes for muffins, until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
