Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/4 c. sour milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 c. sifted flour
  • 3/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 1/2 c. rolled oats
  • 1 c. crushed nuts
  • 1 c. seedless raisins

Instructions

  1. Combine brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, cloves, sour milk, and eggs in a bowl.
  2. Beat thoroughly until well mixed.
  3. Sift together the flour and soda in a separate bowl.
  4. Add the sifted flour and soda to the wet mixture.
  5. Stir in the rolled oats, crushed nuts, and raisins.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking pan.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 to 15 minutes.
