Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, beat together eggs, honey, vanilla, grated orange peel, and orange juice.
  2. In a separate bowl, stir together whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the dry mixture to the honey mixture and stir until combined.
  4. Stir in chopped dates and chopped walnuts.
  5. Spread the mixture in a greased 8 x 8-inch square pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes or until done.
