Ingredients

  • 1 loaf toasted butternut white bread, broken in pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups crumbled cornbread
  • 3 boiled chopped eggs
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 stalk chopped celery
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 jar drained mushrooms
  • turkey or chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons poultry seasoning or to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the toasted butternut white bread and crumbled cornbread.
  2. Saute chopped celery, chopped onion, and drained mushrooms in butter until tender.
  3. Add the sautéed vegetables and mushrooms to the bread mixture.
  4. Stir in the chopped boiled eggs.
  5. Add turkey or chicken broth until the mixture reaches your desired consistency, not too dry.
  6. Pour the mixture into a Pyrex dish.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 to 20 minutes.
  8. Optional: Top with additional mushrooms or giblets before serving.
