Ingredients

  • 8 oz. macaroni
  • 1 can mixed vegetables
  • 1 can red kidney beans
  • 1 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1 small jar pimento
  • 1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 tsp. mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni until tender, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, cook celery seed, sugar, mustard, flour, vinegar, salt, and margarine until bubbles form and mixture thickens.
  3. Pour the hot dressing over the cooked macaroni, mixed vegetables, beans, bell pepper, onions, celery, and pimento.
  4. Stir well to combine and let stand overnight to allow flavors to meld.
