Sierra Nuggets
Sierra Nuggets are hearty, sweet and nutty cookies packed with oats, coconut, chocolate chips, and warm spices, perfect for satisfying dessert cravings or afternoon treats.
Ingredients
- 1 c. softened butter
- 1 c. packed brown sugar ⓘ
- 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. milk ⓘ
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla ⓘ
- 2 eggs ⓘ
- 1 c. dry crumbled corn flakes ⓘ
- 3 c. oats ⓘ
- 1 1/2 c. unsifted flour ⓘ
- 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda ⓘ
- 2 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. mace ⓘ
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon ⓘ
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg ⓘ
- 1/8 tsp. powdered cloves ⓘ
- 4 oz. coconut ⓘ
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips ⓘ
- 1 c. walnuts ⓘ
Instructions
- Cream together until smooth the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Add milk and vanilla, then beat and incorporate the eggs.
- Stir in the crumbled corn flakes and oats.
- Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, mace, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, then add to the mixture.
- Stir in the coconut, chocolate chips, and walnuts.
- Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough onto a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
