Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned or cooked pumpkin
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp cloves

Instructions

  1. Stain all liquid from pumpkin.
  2. Cream butter and sugar; beat in egg.
  3. Sift remaining dry ingredients together.
  4. Add to creamed mixture alternately with pumpkin.
  5. Pour into greased 8 x 4 x 2 1/2-inch pan.
  6. Let rise in warm place for 20 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until loaf tests done.
