Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 lb. ground pork
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 3 chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 4 cups tomato juice
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb. spaghetti

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef and ground pork to form meatballs.
  2. Fry meatballs, chopped garlic, and chopped onion in olive oil until browned.
  3. Add tomato juice, tomato paste, salt, red pepper, and oregano to the skillet.
  4. Simmer the mixture covered for 2 hours.
  5. Add cream of mushroom soup and grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce and stir.
  6. Cook spaghetti until al dente, then drain.
  7. Combine cooked spaghetti with the sauce and meatballs.
  8. Pour the mixture into a 3-quart casserole dish.
  9. Top with green pepper rings.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, or serve without baking if preferred.
