Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lb. kettle beef
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • celery, chopped
  • carrots, chopped
  • onions, chopped
  • 1 or 2 cans mushrooms
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • Worcestershire sauce to taste
  • 1 can okra
  • 1 or 2 cans water chestnuts

Instructions

  1. Brown the kettle beef in a skillet; remove.
  2. Transfer the browned beef to a crock-pot.
  3. Cook slowly for several hours until tender.
  4. Add stewed tomatoes, chopped celery, chopped carrots, chopped onions, okra, mushrooms, and mushroom soup to the crock-pot.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to taste.
  6. Serve hot, yielding a large, satisfying meal.
