Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. beef stew, cut in 1-inch cubes
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 c. chopped carrots
  • 1 c. sliced onion
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tsp. cornstarch
  • hot cooked noodles

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef in hot oil.
  2. Add chopped carrots, sliced onion, tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, water, and salt.
  3. Cover and cook over low heat until the meat is tender, about 2 hours.
  4. Mix cornstarch with cold water and add to the beef mixture.
  5. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
  6. Serve over hot cooked noodles, garnished with carrot curls and parsley if desired.
