Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup cornmeal
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3 teaspoons margarine, melted
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 (8 oz) jar Cheez Whiz
  • 1 cup chopped tomato

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Add milk and melted margarine; beat until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch square dish.
  5. In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned; drain excess fat.
  6. Mix chopped green pepper into the cooked beef.
  7. Spread the beef and green pepper mixture over the batter in the dish.
  8. Spread Cheez Whiz over the beef mixture.
  9. Top with chopped tomato.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until golden.
