Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider using fresh herbs like basil or thyme in place of dried oregano. If you're short on time, you can replace the ground sirloin with ground turkey or a plant-based alternative for a healthier or vegan option. Be careful not to overcook the vegetables when browning them.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this hearty spaghetti sauce over your favorite pasta, like spaghetti or penne. Pair it with a fresh salad, such as Gwen'S Garden Salad, for a complete meal. A sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil on top adds a delightful touch.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover spaghetti sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat, warm it gently on the stovetop over low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. You can also freeze the sauce for up to 3 months; thaw in the fridge before reheating.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a different type of meat in this recipe?

Yes, you can substitute ground sirloin with ground turkey, chicken, or even a plant-based meat alternative to suit your dietary preferences. Just be mindful of cooking times, as leaner meats may require less time to brown.

How can I make this sauce spicier?

To add heat to your sauce, include red pepper flakes, diced jalapeños, or a dash of hot sauce while cooking. Adjust the amount to your heat preference, starting with a small quantity and increasing as needed.

Is there a way to make this sauce vegetarian?

Absolutely! Replace the ground sirloin with lentils or a plant-based meat substitute. Ensure your Worcestershire sauce is vegetarian or use a vegan alternative. This will give you a rich, flavorful sauce without the meat.
