Ingredients

  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 12 oz chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Cream the margarine in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add sugar, brown sugar, eggs, water, and vanilla to the creamed margarine and blend well.
  3. Sift together the flour and baking soda, then gradually add to the mixture and mix thoroughly.
  4. Stir in rolled oats, chocolate chips, and chopped nuts until evenly distributed.
  5. Drop teaspoonfuls of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake in a moderate oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
