Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. spaghetti noodles
  • 2 cans sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. sherry
  • 2 c. American or Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 2 cans tuna

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in flour to make a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk and sherry, cooking until the sauce thickens.
  4. Add sliced mushrooms, cheese, salt (if using), and ground nutmeg to the sauce, stirring until cheese melts.
  5. Drain tuna and stir into the sauce.
  6. Combine cooked spaghetti with the sauce and transfer to an oven dish.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes or until lightly golden.
