Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Pour boiling water over oats and butter which has been broken into chunks.
  2. Stir until butter melts; set aside.
  3. Sift flour, soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Add to oat mixture; mix well.
  5. Add sugars, then eggs; mix thoroughly.
  6. Pour mixture into a 2-quart microwave-safe dish.
  7. Bake in the microwave for 12 minutes, turning the dish often.
  8. Frost with topping.
