White Beans
A hearty and flavorful white bean stew with salt pork, tomatoes, and aromatic herbs, perfect for comforting dinners and suitable for family and casual gatherings.

Instructions
- Soak the Great Northern beans in water overnight.
- Keep 3 cups of the soaking liquid and set aside.
- Add bouillon cubes to the reserved liquid and dissolve.
- Rinse the salt pork, dry, and cut into 1-inch strips.
- Brown the pork strips in oil until crispy.
- Add the soaked beans, chopped onions, chopped garlic, chopped tomatoes, sage, parsley, thyme, bay leaf, and the prepared bouillon liquid to the pot.
- Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until the beans are tender.
- Optional: cook in a crock-pot on low for several hours.
