Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup mashed banana
  • 1 cup chopped dates

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly oil and flour a bread pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, soda, baking powder, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  3. Add maple syrup, egg whites, mashed banana, and chopped dates to the dry ingredients.
  4. Mix until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared bread pan.
  6. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and let cool completely before slicing.
