Ingredients

  • 1 lb. shaved pressed ham
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. fat
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 5 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c. catsup
  • 3 tsp. vinegar
  • about 1 c. tomato puree
  • 8 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Cook chopped onion in fat until clear.
  2. Add all other ingredients except the meat to the onion mixture.
  3. Thin the sauce to the right consistency with tomato puree.
  4. Add small pieces of shaved pressed ham to the sauce shortly before serving.
  5. Serve the ham mixture on hamburger buns.
