Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 c. diced bell pepper
  • 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
  • 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
  • 4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. raw rice
  • Few drops Tabasco sauce

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet or pot.
  2. Add chopped onion, chopped celery, diced bell pepper, mushrooms, and canned tomatoes.
  3. Stir in salt, pepper, and a few drops of Tabasco sauce.
  4. Cover and bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to simmer and cook for 30 to 40 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, cook the raw rice separately according to package instructions.
  7. Serve the cooked rice topped with the Cajun beef and vegetable mixture.
