Ingredients

  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1/2 cup fine dried bread crumbs (Italian style)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 ounces mushrooms
  • Worcestershire sauce to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, beaten eggs, tomato soup, bread crumbs, chopped onion, salt, sage, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Chop the mushrooms finely and add to the mixture.
  4. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.
  5. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes or until cooked through and browned on top.
  7. Remove from oven and let rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
