Ingredients

  • 1 peck ripe tomatoes
  • 1 or 2 cans lima beans
  • 3 bunches celery, diced
  • 1 cup soaked barley
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 quart diced carrots
  • 1 or 2 cans peas
  • 3 green peppers, diced
  • 5 large onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Cook each vegetable separately until almost done.
  2. Mix all cooked vegetables and remaining ingredients together and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
  3. Pour the hot mixture into sterile pint canning jars and process in a hot water bath for 1 hour.
