Delicious Broccoli Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 onion
  • water
  • few bay leaves
  • carrots
  • potatoes
  • celery
  • broccoli
  • cauliflower
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • chicken soup base to taste
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • salt
  • pepper
  • cream or milk mixed with flour

Instructions

  1. Saute the margarine and the chopped onion in a Dutch oven or pot until translucent.
  2. Add water according to the desired amount of soup and bring to a boil.
  3. Add bay leaves, carrots, potatoes, and celery. Cook until these vegetables are slightly tender.
  4. Add cauliflower, sugar, chicken soup base, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Optional: add broccoli and cauliflower after other vegetables are tender.
  5. Simmer the soup until all vegetables are cooked through.
  6. Mix milk with a tablespoon of flour, then add this mixture into the soup.
  7. Bring the soup to a boil to thicken slightly. Serve hot and enjoy!
