Ingredients

  • 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cumin seed
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. Italian dried herbs
  • 1 medium onion sliced and separated
  • 1 1/4 cups mushrooms sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups potatoes sliced and peeled
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef with egg, salt, bread crumbs, cumin, garlic powder, mustard, and Italian dried herbs.
  2. Layer the pie crust with sliced potatoes, separated onion slices, and sliced mushrooms, leaving some mushrooms to encircle the pie.
  3. Cover the assembled pie with foil and bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
  4. Cook a little longer if the potatoes are not tender.
  5. Remove from oven, top with shredded Swiss and Cheddar cheeses and dried parsley flakes.
  6. Return to the oven just until the cheese melts, then serve.
