- Fry the bacon until crispy, crumble 4 slices and set aside, and keep the bacon drippings.
- Saute chopped onion and green bell pepper in the bacon drippings until tender.
- Add ground beef to the vegetables and brown until cooked through, then drain excess fat.
- Combine the crumbled bacon, cooked ground beef mixture, pork-n-beans, light brown sugar, dry mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl.
- Pour the mixture into a greased shallow casserole dish.
- Lay the remaining 4 strips of bacon across the top of the bean mixture.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes until bubbly and browned.
