Killer Meat Loaf

Ingredients
- 2 lb. lean ground chuck ⓘ
- 3/4 lb. sausage in bulk ⓘ
- 3 Tbsp. butter ⓘ
- 3/4 c. finely chopped onion ⓘ
- 3/4 c. finely chopped green onion ⓘ
- 1/2 c. finely chopped carrots ⓘ
- 1/4 c. finely chopped celery ⓘ
- 1/4 c. finely chopped red pepper ⓘ
- 1/4 c. finely chopped green pepper ⓘ
- 2 tsp. finely chopped garlic ⓘ
- 1 tsp. ground pepper ⓘ
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. white pepper ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. cumin ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg ⓘ
- 3 beaten eggs ⓘ
- 1/2 c. ketchup ⓘ
Instructions
- Heat butter in a pan, add chopped onions, green onions, carrots, celery, red pepper, green pepper, and garlic; cook until vegetables dry up.
- Let the cooked vegetable mixture cool and then chill in the refrigerator.
- In a bowl, combine spices, beaten eggs, ketchup, and half and half; blend well.
- Mix the cooled vegetable mixture, spice blend, ground meats, and crumbs together until thoroughly combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking pan.
- Place the baking pan into a larger pan with some water to create a water bath.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35 to 40 minutes until cooked through.
