Ingredients

  • 4 oz. fresh pork sausage
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 2 Tbsp. minced onion
  • 1 tsp. chicken bouillon
  • 2/3 c. warm water
  • 1/4 tsp. ground sage
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 2 c. corn bread stuffing mix
  • 2 c. regular stuffing mix
  • 2 c. rye bread, toasted and cubed
  • 1 c. chopped macadamia nuts, toasted
  • 1 1/2 c. milk

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, cook the sausage, chopped celery, and minced onion until the sausage is browned and the vegetables are tender.
  2. Drain off the excess fat from the saucepan.
  3. Dissolve the chicken bouillon in the warm water, then add this mixture to the sausage and vegetable mixture.
  4. Stir in the ground sage and pepper.
  5. Add the cubed bread, toasted macadamia nuts, and milk as needed to moisten the stuffing.
  6. Mix thoroughly and serve hot.
