Meat-filled manicotti features tender pasta tubes generously stuffed with seasoned beef and sausage mixture, topped with melted cheese and rich spaghetti sauce, perfect for comforting family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 14 manicotti noodles
  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. pork sausage
  • 2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3/4 c. chopped onion
  • 3/4 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 3/4 c. spaghetti sauce

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  2. Drain and cool in a single layer on foil.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. In a large skillet, brown beef and sausage; drain fat.
  5. In a bowl, combine meat, 1 cup Mozzarella, eggs, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  6. Fill each cooled pasta tube with 1/4 cup meat filling.
  7. Spread a thin layer of spaghetti sauce in the bottom of a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
  8. Place filled pasta in the dish.
  9. Cover with remaining sauce.
  10. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup Mozzarella cheese and additional Parmesan cheese.
  11. Cover with foil.
  12. Bake for 45 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
