Ingredients

  • broccoli
  • peas
  • pea pods
  • green beans
  • green, yellow and red peppers
  • celery
  • carrots
  • bamboo shoots
  • water chestnuts
  • tofu
  • cooked, chopped chicken
  • 1/4 cup sesame seed oil
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger

Instructions

  1. Go to the garden and get the vegetables.
  2. Start with 1 cup chopped vegetables and add 1/2 cup more for each person.
  3. Get the bamboo shoots and water chestnuts from the store.
  4. Use the last 4 ingredients for each 4 persons.
  5. Put sesame seed oil in a large hot skillet. Slice onion into it.
  6. Cover and stir until translucent.
  7. Add 1/2 cup water if too dry.
  8. Cover immediately after water addition to give steam.
  9. Cook vegetables in microwave without water.
  10. Carrots and celery take the longest to cook.
  11. Cook the other vegetables together only until warmed.
  12. Add vegetables to the onion in the skillet.
  13. Add grated ginger and teriyaki sauce.
  14. If a sauce is desired, add 1 cup water with 2 tablespoons cornstarch dissolved in it.
  15. Cook until the sauce is jelled.
