Ingredients

  • 2 c. butter
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 24 oz. chocolate chips
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 8 oz. Hershey bar, grated
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 5 c. blended oatmeal
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Measure 5 cups of oatmeal and blend in a blender until the oatmeal is a fine powder.
  2. Combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl and cream together.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, mixing well.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips, grated Hershey bar, chopped nuts, and the blended oatmeal.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and let cookies cool on wire racks.
