Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 c. fresh bread crumbs
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 3/4 c. water
  • garlic salt to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar

Instructions

  1. Lightly mix ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, half of the tomato sauce, egg, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape the mixture into a loaf in a shallow pan.
  3. Combine the remaining tomato sauce, water, brown sugar, prepared mustard, and vinegar.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over the meat loaf.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 1/4 hours.
