Ingredients

  • 6 pork chops
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley
  • 1/8 tsp. cloves
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 6 small carrots
  • 6 small potatoes
  • 1 medium onion

Instructions

  1. Trim the fat from the pork chops.
  2. Place the fat in a large skillet and fry until approximately 2 tablespoons of grease accumulate.
  3. Remove the trimmings.
  4. Coat the pork chops in a mixture of flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  5. Place chops in the skillet and brown well, about 10 minutes per side.
  6. In a 3-quart casserole, combine water, parsley, cloves, salt, bay leaf, and pepper.
  7. Place halved carrots and halved potatoes in the casserole.
  8. Generously sprinkle with salt and arrange the pork chops on top of the vegetables.
  9. Place thinly sliced onions on top of the pork chops.
  10. Cover the casserole.
  11. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
