Ingredients

  • 2 c. dark brown sugar
  • 2 c. granulated sugar
  • 3/4 c. butter, softened
  • 1 c. vegetable shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 c. uncooked oats
  • 2 c. coconut
  • 2 c. raisins
  • 1 c. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Cream together the dark brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter, and vegetable shortening.
  2. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking soda; then gradually beat this mixture into the first mixture.
  4. Add the oats, coconut, raisins, chocolate chips, and chopped nuts, and knead the mixture until combined.
