Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the meat mixture. You can substitute the veal with additional minced beef or pork if necessary. If you're short on time, pre-made meatballs can be used, just adjust the cooking time accordingly. Adding some diced carrots or celery to the broth can enhance the ragout's flavor and texture.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the ragout over boiled potatoes, which absorb the delicious sauce perfectly. A side of steamed green beans or a simple salad can complement the dish nicely. This hearty meal pairs beautifully with Creamy Beef Stroganoff for a comforting dinner or can be enjoyed as leftovers for lunch the next day.

Storage & Reheating

Leftover Quebec Meatball Ragout can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply warm it on the stove over low heat or in the microwave, adding a splash of water if needed to maintain moisture. It's also suitable for freezing; just ensure it's in a freezer-safe container.
