Ingredients

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • dash pepper
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Combine the cream of mushroom soup, prepared mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and horseradish. Blend well and set aside.
  2. Lightly beat the egg, then add bread crumbs, chopped onion, salt, pepper, and 1/4 cup of the soup mixture.
  3. Add the ground beef and mix well.
  4. Form the mixture into patties and brown them in cooking oil.
  5. Combine the remaining soup mixture with water.
  6. Pour the soup mixture over the browned patties, cover, and cook over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
  7. Serve the Salisbury Steak with parsley garnish.
