Ingredients

  • 2 lb. smoked link sausage, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 1 (7 oz.) pkg. thin spaghetti
  • grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook sausage in a Dutch oven over medium heat until browned, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add chopped onions and cook until lightly browned.
  3. Stir in chopped tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, bay leaf, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Simmer for about 35 minutes.
  5. Add chopped green pepper and simmer an additional 10 minutes.
  6. Prepare spaghetti according to package directions; drain.
  7. Serve sauce over cooked spaghetti.
  8. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
