Ingredients
- 12 to 14 medium to large mushroom caps ⓘ
- 1/4 cup finely diced onion ⓘ
- 1/4 cup finely diced celery ⓘ
- 1/4 cup finely diced green peppers ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine ⓘ
- 3 ounces softened cream cheese ⓘ
- 1 cup finely ground bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper ⓘ
Instructions
- Wash the mushroom caps and lay them on paper towels to dry until needed.
- In a large skillet, sauté onion, celery, and green pepper in butter until slightly softened.
- Add cream cheese and stir until melted and well combined.
- Add bread crumbs, lemon juice, salt, and pepper; mix well.
- Stuff each mushroom cap with the mixture.
- Place stuffed mushroom caps on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake at 375°F for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Optional: Broil for a few minutes if you want them browned more.
- Serve warm.
